When I fall in love, it will be remotely
‘Cause I’ve hardly left my house all year.
Dinner was proposed
But the restaurants have been closed
And if you just ask, I will kiss you through my mask and say,
“Happy valentine with this way, funny valentine,
We won’t play Funny valentine today!”

Enjoy our Virtual Holiday Card ... just for you!
On December five and twenty, Fum-Fum-Fum,
But in this Two Thousand Twenty, Zoom, Zoom, Zoom!
Oh, the word went out last spring that it’s no longer safe to sing.
The result of this dispersal is that there’s no live rehearsal,
So, it’s Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!
The worst Noel could be this year
In a season of lockdowns and general fear.
But we’ll sing on because that’s what we do
And we’re making this virtual card just for you!
Deck yourself with PPE fa la la la la, la la la la
Listen to the CDC fa la la la la, la la la la
At the government’s insistence fa la la, la la la, la la la
We must practice social distance fa la la la la, la la la la
Laptop has to be rebooted fa la la la la, la la la la
Ooops! We all have just been muted!
Learning this computer format fa la la, la la la, la la la
Makes me feel dumb as a doormat fa la la la la, la la la la
Oh Chanukah, oh Chanukah, I’ll light the menorah.
There won’t be a party but I’ll still dance the hora.
Zooming with my family from near and far, eight nights of candles bright as a star.
And while we are Zooming, there might be a slight delay.
A light for each night, what a beautiful sight, see them glow.
Hope things improve fast because bad times cannot last, let us celebrate our past long ago.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and Kwanza and Winter Solstice with much less social distance in the coming New Year!

"Dravidian Dithyramb" performed by Pacific Coast Chorale - 11-2-14 at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church
Performed at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in San Diego, CA, during our "International Folk Music" concert.
Conducted by Jim Tompkins-MacLaine, accompanied by Rodney Girvin. Assistant Conductor, John Nettles.
The Dravidian Dithyramb embodies traces of ragas from the Carnatic music of South India, but it also bears an astonishing resemblence to the tarana - a form of Hindustani classical music which uses Persian and Arabic phonemes as nonsense syllables. This piece requires a very "nasally" sound when vocalizing to be authentic to its origin.
